Third Order of the Most Holy Trinity and of the Captives – The Humble Servants of Christ the Redeemer
The Third Order of the Trinitarians is the organization of consecrated laypersons of the Trinitarian family. The purpose of the Third Order is that each tertiary attends to his own sanctification and to the glorification of the Most Holy Trinity through the practice of theological virtues. Guided by the Rule of St. John de Matha, Third Order Trinitarians follow Christ through the path of the Gospel according to the gift they have received, strive for the perfection of charity, and manifest in the Church and in the world the secular dimension of the Trinitarian charism. According to their state in life, they live out their lay vocation in fellowship and in communion with all the members of the Trinitarian Family, seeking with all their strength the glory of the Most Holy Trinity and the redemption of their brothers and sisters. Professed members commit to daily prayer and devotion to the Most Holy Trinity, live in communion with the precepts of the Roman Catholic Church, take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and serve the Order of the Most Holy Trinity and of the Captives according to their state in life. Third Order Trinitarians live out Christian holiness in solidarity with those being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ, and with the poor and marginalized.
