1214-1270

Father of 11 children. Ruled France with a high regard for peace and the temporal and spiritual welfare of his people. Two Crusades - 1248 and 1270 to liberate the Holy Land. Died in Tunis in 1270 with Trinitarian Father John of Metz at his bedside.
