Father James Day, O.SS.T.

Our Trinitarian Biography for March 2023 is Father James Day, O.SS.T., President of DeMatha High School in Hyattsville, Maryland.

***Please pray for him during this month as you enjoy his replies.***

Fr. James Day was ordained a priest on December 2, 1972 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Pikesville, MD where he had served as a deacon.

Fr. James has found comforting the sick and suffering through the Sacrament of the Sick to be rewarding.  The person is usually frightened, and when the sacrament is celebrated well, it can bring consolation and inner peace.

Fr. James just celebrated his Golden Jubilee as a priest.  Much of his ministry has been with Catholic Education (30 years) and pastoral work as a pastor of a parish. (St. Ann’s in Bristol, PA) He has also worked in the formation of younger religious.

He feels blessed to be able to deepen his understanding of many different people in their quest for holiness and happiness.

Pasta is his favorite food.

Fr. James enjoys music and attending performances and singing with the school bands at DeMatha Catholic High School.

His latest great moments were connected with two different Jubilee gatherings:  one at his former parish in Bristol, PA and one at DeMatha. It was great to be together again!

During the month of March, please remember Father James Day, O.SS.T. and DeMatha High School in your daily prayers!

Thank you, Father James! GLORY TO THE TRINITY.
