These are pictures of the grandiose monument to Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, author of Don Quijote de la Mancha, in Plaza de España in Madrid. The red-and-blue cross is chiseled into the pedestal as an acknowledgment of the part The Trinitarians played in his ransom.
